my best friend's wedding!

Our vacation in Edisto was cut short because my bff from college was getting married!

I was a bridesmaid, thus Marshall was on baby and photo duty. Which meant no pictures from the ceremony, just Hartley running around the wedding site..

Her feet were ridiculously dirty after all the walking..

It rained the morning of the wedding and we were so afraid the wedding would be moved indoors.

But the sun came out and it couldn't have been a more perfect day- considering it was an outdoor wedding in July!!

Hartley was crashing while we took pictures after the ceremony, but once the reception and music started she was good to go!

She enjoyed boogie-ing on the dance floor.. by herself.

We are so happy for Krysten and her new hubby Matt! Even though we didn't get a lot of pictures, her photographer was great (and quick!!) so I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Hartley has been recovering from vacation and wedding weekend. Monday she took TWO naps, yesterday's only nap was over 4 hours, and right now she's on nap number one of the day.

Oh, she also got 2 teeth in the last week.

Edisto 2011

The Moore family had their second annual beach trip last week.

 Last year Hartley was only 5.5 months old and didn't experience much aside from nursing and sleeping.

 She loved it this year!

 We took a trip to the Environmental Learning Center and saw lots of fish.

 We also got a lot of family shots in.

 We ate lots of yummy food, too!

 Hartley enjoyed being with her cousins all day long.

 We managed to sleep in until 6:30am. Everyday.

I got my tan on. 

 Hartley made us laugh.

 We went to Botany Bay, a preservation beach.

 We got some great photos there!

We're considering a different beach next year, maybe St. Augustine. And we'll also need a larger house(s) if the family keeps growing at this rate!

happy fourth!

We had a busy, yummy-filled weekend with our Athenian friends the Bates and Gurleys. It was one of our many attempts to get Hartley and Hudson closer to their future boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. 

This weekend was a failure. They're still not so sure about one another.

 

We took our friends to Splash in the Boro and it was a hit, despite the incredibly long line to enter.

Hudson did great in the water! Hartley did great as usual, until she got stung by something. She also suffered some horrible teething and we did not have our normal sweet child.

We celebrated Jonathon's birthday with some chocolately goodness and Mexican Train, along with PIT the next evening.

Sunday morning called for a photoshoot before church. Good idea, Erika!

This was the only candid photo of H & H together. They got along, they just didn't interact too much with one another.

We are so glad our friends came to visit us! We always enjoy hanging out with them and playing games late into the night!

Shortly after they headed back to Athens, Hartley began celebrating Independence Day. She likes her nakey-freedom.

17 months

Hartley Caroline!

you are seventeen months old!

(and Momma completely forgot..)

• You have become a Momma's girl.. and though it can be aggravating as you tug and pull on my legs constantly.. I love it! You love cuddling with me, especially when you are tired, cranky, and ill. Which seems to be a lot these days. :)
• You are still working on your bottom molars. You've had diarrhea for the past few days, along with diaper rash, but I can definitely feel them making their way. Please hurry!

• In the past month you have come along way with asking nicely and saying please. You even say "no, thank you" and either "no, ma'am" or "no way." We can't really tell. You also tell us thank you, we don't have to prompt you! I usually ask for a kiss from you and then tell you thank you.. you've started thanking me for kisses now. :)
• You still love babies, puppies and trucks. You can make a lot of animal noises (elephant, lion/tiger, owl, bird, pig, sometimes frog). Cars go "beep beep", trucks are still "crgh." 

• We go to the local waterpark a few times a week and you love it! You like going down the slide (because you get to climb stairs mainly), running through the "sprayground" (little kiddie area), and getting in the lazy river. You also like walking around and watching people "sleep." I think you should take swim lessons- you would do great since you love the water so much!

• We hear you making a lot of efforts to say names and repeat words we say. Daddy likes getting you to whisper "oh yeah!" Your version is definitely funnier!
• You're growing so quickly. It seems like you get taller each day! And your feet are growing so quickly too! You are wearing size 5 shoes! Every morning when I get you out of the crib (around 9am...), you point to the closet and say "shooos! shooos!" You love your shoes and bags and jewelry...

Momma and Daddy love you very much!
